4 Traits That High-Performance Teams Must Have

High performing teams has been a hot topic for me lately.  The 4 characteristics mentioned in this article are critical for high performing team success.

The four (4) traits mentioned in the article are found in all high performing teams. As a leader, you foster the environment for a high performing team.  One of the four key traits that high performing teams possess is trust. Trust in their teammates; trust in their leadership.  Trust does not get earned by a title.  It is earned by “walking the talk”.  Trust can be created or destroyed. Trust is complex and multidimensional.

The dimensions of trust are:

  • trust of character      (Do you model behavior?  Are you trustworthy?)
  • trust of disclosure     (Are you open and transparent?  Do you have an “agenda”?)
  • trust of capability      (Are you competent? Are your skills and abilities respected by others?)

How does your team rate in these areas? More importantly, you as their leader, how do you rate? These are important questions to answer.  If you are interested in learning how to build your trustworthiness, I have resources that can rebuild your trustworthiness as well as the team’s trustworthiness. This trait can be the difference between you achieving and not achieving your greatness.
